What a scooter really costs in Siquijor

We do not print a rate card on this page, and it is worth saying why. On Roam the owner of the vehicle sets their own daily rate. Any table typed into a guide is a promise somebody else has to keep six months later, so the only honest version is the live one:

Delivery anywhere on Siquijor is included in those numbers, to the pier or to your accommodation. It is not a line item that appears later: it is not charged at all.

Three things, in the order they matter.

• The machine. This is most of it. An automatic 110cc or 125cc scooter is the island standard and the cheapest thing to ride, and it is genuinely all Siquijor asks for: the loop is sealed and gentle. A 150cc bike costs more and earns it with two adults and luggage. A tuktuk or a self-drive car is a different price bracket entirely and is the answer for a family or a rainy week.
• The season. December to March is peak, along with Holy Week and long Philippine weekends. Supply on this island is finite and mostly small operators, so peak dates do not just cost more, they run out.
• How long you keep it. Walk-up shops will often shave something off a long rental if you haggle for it. On Roam there is nothing to haggle over: the owner sets one daily rate and you pay it for each day, so a week is seven times the daily rate. What you get instead of a negotiation is a number that cannot change between the message and the handover. Better pricing for longer stays is something we are actively working on. If you are here for a month, it is worth asking around in the meantime.

The rental is the biggest line but it is not the only one. Here is the honest total for a typical three-day trip on the cheapest scooter Roam has live today, doing the loop and the usual stops.

The deposit is not in that total because you get it back. It is set and held by the owner, not by Roam, and it is returned when you hand the bike over in the condition you took it. Photograph the vehicle at handover and that conversation stays short.

Every waterfall and most beaches charge a small entrance fee, and almost all of them charge separately to park a scooter. Individually they are trivial. Across three days they are a real line in your budget, and they are cash only, so the practical advice is to carry small notes.

These are set locally and they do move, so treat them as the right order of magnitude rather than a price list. Checked August 2026.

Some of the cost of renting on this island is not a price, it is a habit. These are the ones worth pushing back on, wherever you rent.

• A helmet fee. Helmets are legally required for rider and passenger. A rental that charges extra for the thing the law requires is charging you for its own compliance.
• A delivery fee to the pier. Plenty of operators deliver free, Roam included. It should not be a surprise line at handover.
• Your passport. Not a fee, but the most expensive thing you can hand over. A cash deposit does the same job and can be given back. Never leave a passport as security, here or anywhere.
• A price that grew. A rate quoted on Messenger that acquires a cleaning charge, a second-helmet charge and a delivery charge by the time you hand the keys back. Get the total in writing before you commit. See the five red flags for the rest of them.

One thing that genuinely is not included anywhere on this island, including on Roam: insurance. Every ride runs on the owner’s rental contract instead, which on Roam you read and sign before you pay. Arrange travel insurance that explicitly covers motorbike riding, and check the licence conditions on the policy.
